Finally a hotel that truly gets me!

With a sleek and fun design, citizenM: Tower of London provides all the luxurious necessities of the modern-day traveller working abroad. With a variety of unique and innovative concepts, citizenM has constructed the definition of perfection in affordable luxury for “The People”.(AKA “those who travel the world with big hearts and wide eyes.”)

Upon my arrival in London I left the Gatwick Airport by train, transferring onto the tube for less than a 10 minute ride before arriving right at citizenM’s door step! (trip was about 45 minutes in total from Gatwick) Since I had luggage that weighed more than I did, it was an extreme relief to stroll right through the door from the tube and conveniently use the self-serve check in. Nestled right in the heart of downtown, citizenM can easily boast for having the best view of The Tower of London. Every room has a wall to wall window with a more than fantastic lookout onto their beautiful city. Modernly designed to be compact, each room is equipped with:

  • Free Wifi! (Que in choir music, clouds opening up, sun shining down)
  • A heavenly comfortable king-size bed
  • Hide-away storage compartment for your luggage
  • Bathroom with frosted glass shower
  • Black-out Blinds
  • Mood Lighting & Music (business chic by day to romance by night with just one swipe)
  • Flat screen tv with unlimited movies
  • A personalized Mood Pad (iPad) that controls just about everything in the room with a touch of a button!
  • and last but not least, the better than VIP treatment because you will have all the plugs! (haha really hope you got that reference, but honestly each room includes power sockets for US/UK/ and various areas in EU)

Overall during my stay, I felt the Hotel itself was working to meet all my needs. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient at all hours. In the mornings, complimentary breakfast at canteenM was included in the package and served downstairs everyday until 11am. I was quite impressed by their breakfast as I found there was a sufficient amount of vegetarian options for myself. Shortly after 11am they would prep for lunch which had an equally amazing spread. During the day I would find myself hanging out in the lobby living rooms, dividing my time between actually working and watching others do the same. I could not help but admire how stylishly functional these communal spaces had been designed. With multiple iMac computer stations, several lounge spots, communal tables, and work spaces it was the perfect space to relax, get some work done, or have a quick meeting. Also located on the lobby level, surrounded by unique art and knick-knacks was the Cafe Bar, followed by Canteen M serving you the optional coffee or cocktail.

Other than touring the city, and potentially going to the gym.. (located five minutes down the road citizenM has a great deal with Fit4less) There was really no reason to leave the hotel! Located on the 7th floor you will find the infamous cloudM cocktail bar featuring a variety of refreshing drinks to enjoy while taking in the panoramic views. Having a group meeting or conference during the day?! No problem! citizenM: Tower of London offers SocietyM meeting rooms giving you the ability to book boardroom style or for that kick ass proposal you’re pitching to a larger crowd. I can honestly say, this hotel contributed to my love for London, turning a sometimes difficult situation of juggling work and travel to a seamlessly easy one. Regardless of whatever my needs, citizenM definitely stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park.

PS. Don’t forget to book the late check-out for 4pm! It's worth every penny!
